sarah caldwell we've had up to four of these calls a night for the last three nights now... they always hang up when you answer! we called back and managed to get through as we'd had enough! didn't even finish telling them and they'd hung up on us! somehow they managed to confirm our name before doing so though, so something dodgy going on! and indian accent so could well be india based.... off to ofcom i go!

Middlesbrough This number phoned me today saying they were citizens advice and wanting 2 put me on a goverment scheme to consolidate my debts ... do not give any details it is a scam ... citizens advice do not phone you, you phone them ... needless to say i phoned the police and logged a complaint

Paul I received four calls yesterday and another one today from this number. On a couple of occasions I was in a meeting a missed the call, however, on those occasions I have attempted to answer the call they have hung up immediately.

Paul Call 01252 555 863 and ask to speak to their Compliance Officer. When through ask that your contact numbers are removed - she will ask if you want confirmation in writing, I suggest you decline as you will need to give your address. She confimed that my numbers have been removed - fingers crossed.

Owain Glyndwr Hey People, I too have had another four calls today, so I have gone to the Ofcom website & complained four seperate times, Its annoying to get their calls But a few seconds action by everyone everytime you get a call/silent call & complain to Ofcom, there will be hundreds, possibly thosands of complaints ~ they cannot ignore that, the form doesn't that that long to fill in electronically, You need to do something positive to assist in stopping these calls, SO COMPLAIN at http://ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/telephone/silent_calls_what_can_I_do OG ~ Freedom from 01252 413437 Caller: 01252 413437

If you continue to receive telesales calls despite complaining to the TPS you should complain to us. We may be able to help if: 1. you have received a marketing call; 2. you can identify the caller; 3. the caller is based in the UK; and  you have registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) or Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS); or  you have a record showing you had previously informed the caller that you did not wish to receive its marketing calls. We will not respond to you about your individual complaint. ~o~o~o~o~o~o~ So they will look into this if complaint levels cause them concern, So I filled in the form ! ************************************************** Then last night, I rec'd yet another call from 01252 413437 ! The call was from a 'Sam' who said he was in India, and when questioned as to why the call was displayed as 01252 413437, he could not tell me why it showed that. He asked a lot of questions to which I made up a lot of silly answers, to keep him on the line wasting his time, (be imaginative with your answers to see if they can put 2 & 2 together), eventually I got bored with the game so just put the phone on the desk & went and made a cuppa tea, when I got back he'd gone ! LOLs Then I went to the UCCplc webpage (they are the owners of 01252 413437) , they are easy to find via a well known search engine, and found their contact form, and wrote the following email:~ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I have been receiving calls from 01252 413437 all day, I interpret these as an international nuisance calls, If I receive any more then I will report your Managing Director to the authorities, he can face £10,000 fines and even imprisonment. So these calls must be stopped immediately. Don't waste your time in replying, I will just continue in contacting you daily & waste your time >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> So will see what happens next, As I have now spoken to the caller I can also complain via TPS, as I've been registered for over 5 years (as a residential number you don't need to re~register every year, as reported elsewhere). But TPS don't really want to get involved, they only pass complaints onto Ofcom, So best bet is to complain via Ofcom EVERYTIME you get a 'silent call' or speak to a caller, Ofcom want full details of:~ * time & date of call/silent call * the callers number (if you don't have caller display ~ use 1471) * have you told caller to stop making calls So off to another day of seeing if we can beat the b*stards !!
