this numberis a pain in the rump. many anonymous calls

  • 5-12-2009 1:53:10PM

Like the previous log, I could barely understand the caller. I asked for the name of the firm and got Crystal (1 word missed) Advisory. I would not confirm my name and insisted that as I do not give out my number, the caller should not be phoning. I am signed up with the Telephone Preference Service. This firm is persistent as I can see from my call records that they have tried to contact me at least 6 times this week.

  • Jayne - 23-11-2009 2:21:48PM

Just been called by this company despite being registered with TPS. Could barely understand the Asian caller but gathered he was talking about a Government approved debt service.

  • Steve - 19-11-2009 10:18:01AM

Have been called on a couple of dozen occasions at least, however the only time someone has spoken is to ask for the person who owns Sky in the house. I dont have Sky and once I mentioned this they hung up. Bit sick of this now. How can we stop it???

  • Kelly Freeman - 13-11-2009 1:57:23PM

I don't know why these guys are calling. My number is registered with the TPS and despite repeatedly telling them this, and asking that they still, the calls keep coming. Sometimes they call more than once per day.

  • Mike Hall - 10-11-2009 2:32:18PM

This was a spam call asking to speak to member of my family about debts.

  • dan - 5-11-2009 3:28:10PM

  • Gary Booth - 31-10-2009 4:13:09PM

Keep receiving calls at all times of day & night, always asking for the same person who has never even lived at this address. We keep asking to be removed from their database, but they simply carry on.

  • Lori - 30-10-2009 11:56:55AM

I recently purchased some furniture, and have a suspect that is how my name and number were obtained. They rang me last night, and twice within an hour this morning. Each time I asked that my name be removed from their list. The last time, I threatened them with harrassment charges. Does Watch Dog know about these people?

  • D Slater - 29-10-2009 9:07:25AM

At last-the calls have stopped! The one thing I did do though-which may or not be useful to others having the same problem-was to pick up the receiver and put it down on the table without answering. I left it there for a good hour, then put it back. Obviously this only works if you have caller ID, and are not expecting calls from anyone else, but, to me, it was well worth missing any other calls for. I wish you all the best of luck in ridding yourselves of this awful company.

  • Helen - 28-10-2009 3:14:44PM

Constant calls at all hours of the day and early evening, asking for someone who doesn't live (and has never lived) at this address. Have told them repeatedly, but can't get anyone to listen. We are already an ex-directory number, not sure what else to do!

  • will - 28-10-2009 10:44:33AM

  • Tracey B - 27-10-2009 12:38:29PM

Having asked this person politely not to call as I was not interested, he called yet again at which point I requested that my phone number be removed from his database. Problem solved. NOT! The calls continued but asking for my husband instead! How can I stop this, it's driving us mad and they are even ringing my husband's work mobile number.

  • Ian M - 27-10-2009 8:24:58AM

Over the past 2-3 months after starting a new job, this phone number keeps calling me, telling me about new legislation that can help me with my debts, I have no debts!! I have told them on every occasion to stop calling me, and they continue to do so, I am getting very very irrate with these constant calls, on top of that, they are calling me at work, which is making me look very unprofessional in my job, I wish there was a way of finding them and dealing with them legally, I will gladly take legal action to make them stop harrasing me!!

  • stevenage bird - 25-10-2009 2:15:59PM

During the summer this bloke phoned constantly about wanting to help with my debt problems, which I dont have. it always showed up as an Out of area number the last time he rang it showed the number and now i'm glad that i can eventually tell someone how annoying this chap is and he shouldnt be allowed to pester people the way he did me during july and august

  • D Slater - 20-10-2009 2:20:14PM

This number has persistently rung my home number on average 5-6 times a day for the past week or so. Same as the others say, it is an Asian guy who will just not listen to me saying I am not interested, and that I am registered with the TPS, and that I will report him. Can't anyone do anything about this gross intrusion on my ex directory number that is also registered with the TPS?

tHIS NUMBER JUST KEEPS RINGING US, HOW DO THEY GET AND WHY WONT IT STOP, bt MUST BE BEING USED SOMEWHERE IN THIS OR SOMEONE GAVE THEM THE LINE?

  • morgi - 17-10-2009 12:57:37PM

We contacted BT about this number today. It isn't a BT provided number so they couldn't look up the name and address. BT are offering a free 30 day trail of 'choose and refuse' Whereby you can block an individual number. The advisor from BT nuisance advice line (0800 661 441) said that 30 days of blocking a number is usually enough to stop them calling even if you then cancel the choose and refuse service. BT also have a nuisance bureau (0800 441 442) whereby you can report a nuisance call. I will be reporting this number. Presumably the more people who repot it the more likely it is that action will be taken?

  • D Boyle - 16-10-2009 1:01:24PM

I have had no end of calls from this number saying they are a debt advisory bureau, I've told them no end of times to stop phoning and last night after again telling them and hanging up they rang me straight back, I told them I'd report them to the police and hung up again only for them to phone me straight back for a third time, where I just left the phone off the hook. I rang BT who said there was nothing they could do except change my number or go ex directory!!

  • Morgi - 16-10-2009 11:38:24AM

  • Mk Police Station - 13-10-2009 3:46:51PM

  • MK Police station - 13-10-2009 3:42:06PM

get rid of this company it pure harrasement and they have no legal right to phone anyone unless the person has requested them to and to use x directory numbers its also against the law

  • C H M - 13-10-2009 9:22:27AM

I've had numerous calls from this number, asking to speak to a name of someone I've never heard of. I've told them I'm x directory - but they still keep calling. Just don't answer it now.

  • Elsiemary - 12-10-2009 10:57:11AM

Caller with Asian accent said he was calling from the Debt Advice Bureau. Told him there was no-one here with the name he mentioned and asked who advised him to call. He mumbled his apologies and then cut off. I feel this is an intrusion on my telephone - who are these people? Where do they get our numbers from? Where does data protection come into this?

  • peter cunningham - 9-10-2009 9:59:24AM
