Another Electricity company using the same script as Yorkshire El. Ring saying your electricity contract is up for renewal. I told caller it was a scam as we already have electricity supply - had calls like this before except the caller guesses who your supplier is but does not know. I told him he was breaking the law because we are CTPS registered and it is an offence to call us once we are on this list. Also these telemarketers break the law under section 127 of the Telecommunications act 2003, by causing you nuisance or annoyance by phoning you they commit the offence. I also contend that they are obtaining goods and services by deception as in our cases they have pretended to be other people than who they are to gain your business, as a transaction may occur, they use deception by claiming to be someone else to do so, in my view that is enough. Report them to Trading standards too! The caller has little info on you except a phone number and maybe a business name.
