Dear Money Expert employee Stacey Cunliffe who has posted below, I am getting inundated with calls from this number, usually during work when I cannot answer. When I do answer, the phone is silent and then disconnected. I have made an energy switch with the company. I am *always* very careful to opt out of marketing. Given some of the other comments here, it seems either the website is broken and mis recording peoples' preferences, the preferences are being ignored or consent is being obtained in an underhand way. Given the number of silent calls received, I will be passing this complaint on to the regulators and if others do the same then perhaps another multi million pound fine will be levied on illegal marketeers.

Whilst I appreciate the gentleman outlining the legitimacy of his company, I too have received an alarming amount of calls from this number, which may not be Money Expert. Regardless of whether I answer or not, I continue to get calls. Whenever I do answer, the connection is disconnected from the other end. I read the small print very closely at the bottom of websites and ALWAYS check the do not share box...please be aware that sometime checking the box means you agree to share your information, so read carefully. This does not appear to make a blind bit of difference if this is ignored and they contact you anyway. I seem to have been bombared with nuisance calls recently and even had a gentleman state that as he was ringing from outside the UK, he didn't care that I wanted my number removed or that it was protected, I have even been shouted at by cold-callers!!. I believe that it is this type of call and when regardless of the individuals wishes, our details are passed to a '3rd' party and that is what enrages most people.

PPI pesterers, I must have been stupid enough to give my phone number to some seemingly OK website. Wont be doing that again.

calling me on a private number when I have no links to their company

  • Kate - 28-3-2014 3:40:28PM

These are spam calls!!! I have had loads of calls from this number, i have asked many times to be removed, but at least once a week I am called again!!! I have NEVER visited the money saver website. Scam all the way!!!!!!

Hi just thought id write a little message to those people who like to jump on the bandwagon. WWW.MONEYEXPERT.COM is 100% legitimate. How do I know?? Because I work for them. The company does have a small department off staff that generate leads through the website, and may phone up to follow up a recent/previous enquiry. The website offer savings and comparison. Now what people don't understand, is that if you go onto the website and enter in your details, there is small print at the bottom with a consent box to opt out from receiving phone calls and updates. Most websites use this and people should perhaps take more care when expressing there details via the net. The company is NOT a scam and do not sell! If you receive a call then obviously the consent box was not unticked. The company offer services to help people financially and save money, no harm! If you receive calls, you have clearly visited the site so if you receive unwanted phone calls and do not want the service then maybe you should take more care and ask for your number to be removed by a manger. If you get an ominous amount of calls it is because you have either hung up, asked for a call back and not answered or not requested the number to be taken off. Occasionally you may find someone had used you number, a wrong number or your telephone provider has sold you a second hand number. In addition to this statement, I just thought id mention some other company names connected with Money Expert which are trusted business partners and share the same office; Owl Solutions, Simply Switch & Mighty Deals. Hope this helps some people as I do understand receiving unexpected calls can be annoying, how my point is people should perhaps take more care rather than giving the callers grief. Thanks.

Was called today by someone claiming to be from money saving expert. Asking all sorts of questions about mortgages, previous loans, credit cards etc and telling me they thought I had been mis-sold PPI and wanting to send a claim pack out.

  • Sir Bob of Bobbington - 25-2-2014 4:17:38PM

This number calls me at least 3 times a week, since before chrimbo, there's never anyone on the other end, so I can't even tell the swines to stop calling me! Don't suppose that would make a difference anyway.

  • Jennie - 25-2-2014 12:32:24PM

THIS IS NOT MONEYSAVINGEXPERT. Martin Lewis has confirmed on his website that his team NEVER call customers and they do not sell any services. These people are lying when they claim to be from moneysavingexpert.co.uk helping people with PPI claims.

  • Grr - 18-2-2014 3:16:33PM

Again! It's been added to the reject list on my phone, so it didn't ring, but my phone still lets me know they've called. Very irritating!

  • IanMK13 - 12-2-2014 7:13:57PM

Claimed to be from Money Expert. Don't know if the same as moneyexpert.com. Selling PPI claim service and quite persistent even though I said I was not interested. Since I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service I can only assume that they don't check before phoning.

  • Jack - 11-2-2014 9:28:06PM

Have had a few annoying calls recently and at least a couple are from this number. In the latest, the Caller (Phil) was trying to sell me PPI claim assistance. He told me the company was Money Expert and confirmed the number, which I also checked on 1471. When I said our number was exdirectory and logged with the TPS and asked to be taken off their call list he just laughed and said I had been on their energy comparison website and so they had the right to call (or words to that effect). Very annoying as I am sure I never agreed to any such calls and have no interest in PPI.

  • Grr - 10-2-2014 6:10:25PM

Been getting strange calls all day from various numbers. They didn't leave a message. I'm not wasting my money calling them back.

  • Jenny Fenton - 7-2-2014 9:29:00AM

Been called every day by this number, no one on the other end when I answer. I rang to complain and they said they'd remove my number. Just had another silent call. They are called Money Expert.

  • Mobile phone user - 4-2-2014 3:53:27PM

Call today by this number, mentioned the MoneySavingExpert energy club and asked if I was on a fixed tariff. Then asked if I was interested in any other services such as insulation. I don't believe it was the MSE cheap energy club.

  • Fed Up Tom - 3-2-2014 8:34:37PM

Two calls on my mobile tonight - 19:27 and 19:29. No attempt by anyone to speak - maybe the neanderthals they employ can't speak? Would love to know who is behind it.

  • Hayley Davies - 3-2-2014 3:35:43PM

Silent call. I am on TPS and ex-directory and have been since I got this number 2 yrs ago, so very interested to know where they got my tel.

  • A. Public - 3-2-2014 11:14:06AM

    Silent call, Monday 3/2/14.

  • A. Public - 30-1-2014 6:47:32PM

Threatened to keep calling unless we called them back. We are on telephone preference service. Who? no idea
