I am a victim of crime and have PTSD, to the extent that I get DLA and have been rehoused by my local authority. I have not given my contract mobile no out to hardly anybody since I am an only child with an elderly mother. I have not even given this contract no to my own children in case it could be passed on to their father who is also fairly intimidating, in fact I actually have a seperate pay as you go mobile that I maintain with credit purely to ensure my own personal peace of mind. This no is drop calling me - phoning and then hanging up - so no sales pitch, but equally I am disturbed as to where they could have obtained my telephone no. I have the facility on my contract mobile to call my elderly mother free of charge since she is on the same network. I always ask for privacy policies and expressly state at the inception of any call that I wish my rights to be protected under the data protection act, and not to be passed on to any third parties. I withold this contract telephone no from being displayed when I make my calls so I am unsure why this is happening and who is behind it? Any light you can shed on the subject would be most appreciated.
