I am registered on the telephone preference service and just answered a call from this number. The girl who greeted me said that she was calling from 'Lifestyle Matters' and they had sent out a letter recently and they were just phoning to follow up to make sure I got mine. I hadn't received a letter from them recently, and by now I know well enough that this is just a sneaky back door through the telephone preference service's rules. The caller will pretend that they have some basis for making the call. I explained as much to the caller and she went straight on to tell me that they're phoning to give me a life insurance quote. I asked to speak to a manager. All the managers where busy Couldn't see that one coming! At least she said that she would be removing me from their list of callable numbers. Can I trust it? Dunno. I can't even find records of a company called that Lifestyle Matters at Companies House.

On picking up the receiver and saying hello a synthezised voice said goodbye and hung up. Probably trying to induce me to call back, which I will not be doing!
