Its Talk Talk (carphone warehouse) very rude unsolicited marketing calls many times a day - play them at their own game - call the sales team on 0800 049 7802 and bung up their system the same as they do yours. tell them you want to be removed from their marketing list and threaten them with the police for harassment. They will give you a premium rate 0870 number to call. Dont call it you will pay a fortune instead call customer services on 0800 0855900 and tell them if you dont get taken off their list you will be bringing a case against them for harassment. It time we got together and tell these unsolicited telemarketing w*****s what we think of them. Lets bung up their switchboard and shut the F*****S down!

Answered this number and was told I had filled in a form saying I was interested in changing phone supplier. Not true so I told him so and put the phone down. He then rang back immediately (I didn't answer) and has rung several times a day since. I had a bad experience with Talk Talk in the past and this just confirms my opinion of them as a dishonest and unpleasant operation.

This is TalkTalk/Carphone Warehouse - I finally answered the phone 3 days ago, told them I've just taken out a new contract with BT and Orange, which is true and I haven't heard from them since. Maybe others could try this, even if it isn't true??

  • George Reidford - 18-8-2010 3:35:52PM

This number has called me 4 times in the past 2 days. When I answer I get a long pause with a lot of background noise. By the time someone takes the trouble to eventually speak I usuallly hang up

This number has been ringing my house 3 times a day for the past 3 weeks. the 1st time i answered, they said it was Talk Talk. I said not interested'. since then they ring 3 times everyday. I am unwell and of work on sick (recovering) at present and their constant calling is most upsetting. Now I just recognise their number, and I lift the receiver and put it on the table and leave them in the cold cold. I would NEVER ever consider singing up with such an cold uncaring company.

  • Jemima - 28-1-2010 4:13:25PM

Constantly calling several times a day and won't take no for an answer.

  • Miss Smith - 7-1-2010 1:16:49PM

Constantly calls 4-5 times everyday. I ignore it because i have caller ID. Thinking about changing number to a private number.

  • Robert Newsam - 25-11-2009 5:03:09PM

I told them not to call but still calling 4 times a day

Definitely TalkTalk (Carphone Warehouse), as it now answers as such, saying "sorry to have missed you, there is nothing to worry about and we will call again". But they didn't miss us, my wife answered on the second ring. Probably TalkTalk Sales trying to sell their broadband (again) in spite of us being TPC-listed for over a year. When I enquired in person about their broadband 2 years ago they admitted the BT exchange will not allow it, and we know the old BT line itself is poor. Virgin Media offers 50Mb here, twice TT's speed, and I am happy with it. I think I will remind TT of their obligation to check the TPC before making unsolicited calls.

phoned up early and got only silence....

  • Peter - 5-8-2009 6:44:48PM

The caller asked for a name of someone who doesn't live here but which was has on an envelope from TalkTalk which arrived at our address (where I've lived for 29 years...) and which I sent back 'Not Known At This Address'. When I told the caller my name and asked who was calling the caller promptly disconnected the call. Recently BT sent us a 'Sorry You Are Leaving Us' letter although we never asked for our line to be transfered to another Telecoms company. We told BT that we had not agreed to a line transfer and they stopped the transfer going through. Absurdly the woman at BT asked 'Could anyone else at your address have put in a request for a line transfer?' and I said no, but anyone anywhere in the world could put in a request online to transfer our line, and she didn't deny this. This is the second time that TalkTalk has attempted to take our phone line - the first time they were successful as we were away and weren't aware of what was going on until we got back and it took 3 days of immense hassle to get the line back. TalkTalk refused to disclose how it happened, citing the Data Protection Act (the account was no longer in my name) but a Carphone Warehouse employee did say the application had been made online. As far as I can work out someone applied online for a TalkTalk line but I suspect that in the address field of the online form, where the postcode is selected and this gives a multiple choice of addresses, the applicant did not use the drop down menu properly but left it at the default setting (we are the first address in our postcode) and inadvertently selected our house number. TalkTalk then probably put in a take-over request purely on the basis of a wrong address without them (or BT) having to verify anything. Checking with Ofcom this is apparently the correct but utterly stupid procedure that prevails in the telecoms industry at the moment. I therefore presume that this phone number belongs to a TalkTalk sorting-out-a-complete-cockup department, hence their reluctance to admit to who they are. My advice: don't have a phone line and be the first address in your postcode and go away for more than 10 days or you might find your phone line switched while you are away.

The guy from TT originally said I'd visited the website enquiring about switching from BT. I told him I don't have a BT line. He said "oh it's Virgin then is it?" I told him no - I don't have a phone line of any sort... That REALLY confused him and he hung up! (I use VOIP)

  • JPL - 1-4-2009 11:40:09AM

We have had many calls from this number when we have not been about and they do not wait to leave a message. I just answered them and they asked for my wife and simply said they would call back when she wasn't available. If it is Talk Talk, they are a right shower and there's no way they are getting a foothold here!!

  • Mark Leonard - 16-3-2009 12:04:07PM

I believe this to be Talk Talk and have been receiving calls every day from them. I wish to stop them calling and have entered their website to find a way of doing this. Surprise, surprise there isn't one!!

  • Mrs.Donovan - 31-10-2008 10:53:12PM

This number is being used by TalkTalk according to another website complaining about the company. I have them calling me daily asking to speak to my husband, when I hear a strange voice asking for my husband I have to ask if they're from Talktalk as they never identify themselves. Now I am getting silent calls from this company who put the phone down on me when they hear my voice.I'm really fed up with them.I've told them countless times my husband is out at work but they still ring during the day.Something should be done to regulate these callers.
